Deep Freeze

Timeline: Afternoon Following "Staffing the Room Pt. 1"
Cornelius didn’t sleep on the couch.
Stepping out of the bathroom he shook his head to clear the water out of his ears. Through the small condo the smell of frying ham and omelette floated, which lead the man to pull his black tshirt back on and scooted himself into his jeans. Down the short, narrow flight of stairs he found himself from the small upper floor to the lower floor where his new manager was in the process of flipping the omelette over to cook the other side. “You know, it’s only just after noon, I would think we could still get some quality cleaning in,” she said without even turning around. The intoxicating laugh of the brewmaster escaped him and he nodded.
"Very well, an afternoon of cleaning should be good. I have to say, with everything up and running, I could probably open this evening. What do you say?" A cocked eyebrow from Tamara made him laugh again. "Now don't be like that, it's barely noon. And we didn't exactly make a big mess yesterday. I think if we open to introduce ourselves, we will be fine. And you never know how many potential staff members might waltz through that door. And maybe the owner of the local bar can come by, because is it really competition if they sell my beer?" This earned him an eye roll, and a little 'tut'. When Tamara picked up the omelettes from the pan and placed them on plates on her small table, she pointed to them with a mock frown.
"Sit down and eat, then we'll talk about running a place under staffed."
Standing up from behind the bar, Cornelius tossed a towel down on the bar and sighed. They had just gotten the grill connected and the last of the water lines run. The deep fryer was set up and they were settled in. The menu was small, snacks at best, salty incentives to drink more at worst. But it was enough to keep a few people in. A yet unfinished stone pizza bake was sitting at the end, enough to make a meal if someone really wanted. Just to the back, the fresh ingredients, acquired from the small store not far off, filled a large fridge and freezer, making up the storage for all the food they could serve.
"I'm telling you, if you did a soup, you'd have so many people in here from the cold. You missed all the power outages," Tamara yelled over the pounding sound of Angus Young wailing on a guitar.
"Sure, you find me a good soup recipe, I'll be down," shot back Warner with a frown. Truth be told, everything he had set up were things he himself had learned how to cook, but he had never thought about soup.
"A beer chowder, come on!" retorted the manager, flailing her arms in the air. "Get some cheese, some cream, some potatoes and you are golden. I'll teach you if you really need!" She finished wiping off the last of the tables and sat her self down. The room finally looked like it was set up to actually serve people. "I can't believe we actually got it done," she said, as the song amped down and the record stopped playing. "Now we just need to unlock to doors and see if anyone shows up. My money is no though, Sumi's has been around for longer, you need to put up flyers or something," she added pointedly. Cornelius only nodded. She was of course right, chances are the night would be very quiet. He hummed to himself, when his PaDD dinged and he glanced over to it, and read the message. He pursed his lips and stood, crossing the room to pull a key from his jacket.
"Hey, can you lock up for me? I have something to run and take care of. We'll do the opening tomorrow, just some family business to look after." Looking up from the PaDD, he shot her a smile, and she rolled her eyes but accepted the key. "Great, I'll see you tomorrow, ten o'clock? We'll do that soup of yours, get the place open for lunch." Dragging the heavy caramel peacoat onto his body, he waved. "Don't drink all my beer!" he added as he rushed out the door.
A few steps away from the place, he keyed in instructions to the PaDD to give him directions to Captain Mahone's residence, they had a meeting that had to happen...
