Cabid had made multiple stops in his investigation of this investigation. Nothing made sense. Everyone he talked to had a different thing to say. And what was worse, the team in charge of it was held in secret until he had the Captain come out with it.

For a man who had a record of trusting those around him, Captain Mahone seemed to be performing some very out of character quirks. Something was up, and Cabid aimed to find out.

Cabid's final stop for the morning involved a trip to the security offices. He had hopes to find a one Lieutenant Junior Grade Lillian James, asking about the few security officers present if their assistant chief had been in today.

He was lucky to find that she had been in, and was in her office for the moment, where Cabid was now approaching and pressing the chime for her to answer.

Lillian was busy tracking down the original statements taken from Lt. Winslow, when her chime sounded.

"Come," she called not looking up from what she was doing.

She heard the footsteps of the other person enter and stop.

After a few moments of silence, Lillian realized that her guest hasn't said anything, "what do you need?" she asked still not looking up but switching from a computer to a PADD on her desk.

"I need you to remove yourself from your work for a short moment, Lieutenant James." Cabid had a politely vacant expression on for someone who had been through multiple hoops in one day. "I'm Lieutenant Cabid, and I've been sent by SFI. We need to discuss your recent investigation into a one Theodore Winslow."

Looking up sharply Lillian was surprised by the vacant expression on his face, usually when some one needed something from security they were panicked and or grief stricken. Sitting back in her chair, she replied, "I mean no offence, but I need to see some credentials, we have enough new people showing up everyday its difficult to keep track of everyone."

Cabid was quick to show the woman his credentials, which were on the PaDD he had in his hand. It was the first of many different things he expected to be asked, especially by now. "You'll find that everything is here. What clearances I have, and what the Captain has given me access to in order to assist in making sure we all come to the appropriate conclusion."

Lillian took the PADD and read it carefully, "Alright Lt. Cabid, everything looks in order, help yourself to the replicator and have a seat. This is not going to be a quick conversation." Lillian got up and closed the door locking it, to make sure that they were not interrupted. She ordered a raktajino, sitting back down behind her desk, she asked one question that could possibly be an issue, "Tell me Lieutenant, why do you say appropriate conclusion? What do you consider appropriate?" She had to know what his answers are before she shared the information. She didn't want to be the one who ended the Chief's career by simply sharing all of her information so someone who was out to get him.

Cabid gave a sigh, but took a seat in the offered chair. "Try the conclusion that doesn't have multiple JAG lawyers getting involved. Or Intelligence clearances. I'll cut to the chase, Lieutenant James. There are no bad guys here. I'm not, you're certainly not, and neither is Lieutenant Winslow. We've already had character testimonies for him, but now I'm here to see the evidence you and Lieutenant Williams have gathered in your own investigation. But, you can... continue to go on for weeks trying to determine if this evidence is all you'll need for the trial that will be put against him - or you could give me the information now and we can put our heads together and sort out whether a trial is even necessary."

"It's not," Lillian replied, as she took a sip, "Here are the facts, Lieutenant Winslow's honor is at steak here, plain and simple. Honor is something I cannot ignore, I was raised with it and believe that one's actions should be keeping that honor in tacked. Until proven otherwise I will assume that your intentions to be honorable, and the same thing for Lieutenant Winslow. From the character testimonies, we know that he is honorable, the physical evidence I have however is not saying the same thing. Every piece of evidence I have points to him. There is one thing missing, motive. Lieutenant Winslow does not have a motive, I have gathered everything I can think of that will prove one way or the other about the motive he might of have to do this and there is none."

Taking another sip, "Now I welcome your help in this investigation, and I am open to new ideas that will prove either his guilt or innocence by the evidence so this case can move forward." Leaning forward in her chair Lillian removed the D'k Tagh from her back and placed it on the desk, unlocking a desk drawer with a series of encrypted algorithms she brought out all the evidence she had on Lieutenant Winslow. Sitting back in her chair again, she watched as she sipped her raktajino, Lieutenant Cabid go through the evidence.

"Oh you misunderstand." Cabid had decided to state this about halfway through his sifting of evidence, frowning at the sight. "Intelligence is not working alongside Haumea Security. Admiral Othello Matthews has asked we take leadership over the investigation of Lieutenant Winslow himself. I've come to gather your information, see what I can corroborate, and perhaps get the Lieutenant to full duties - unless of course you can prove without a shadow of a doubt in your mind at all that he's done the deed, and from the sounds of it, you're not convinced of your own evidence. Am I wrong in assuming that?"

Standing up suddenly, "Whoa, wait a minute. Admiral Matthews is taking the investigation away from me? Is he questioning my honor?"

Pacing the room, "I'll admit that I'm new to all of this. While I am learning as I go here, I think by removing me from this is a mistake, and I will be filing a complaint about this. Since you're taking this from me it doesn't really matter what I think now does it?" She picked up the D'k Tagh, placed it back in it's spot in the small of her back, "I think Lt. Cabid, that you need to take your information and get out," she bit out, angrily.

There it was. Cabid was used to the annoyance out of just about anyone. It was, after all, his job to snoop in other people's business, even if he wanted no part. But Lieutenant James had proven to be a bit more vocal than he expected. "I'll keep your complaint noted. The leadership of this investigation will be returned back to your team the moment we're finished. We're only here to obtain answers." Among other matters.

He slid the small cabinet of physical evidence shut, having not taken anything more than a look and record that he had done so. "A pleasure, I'm sure." And with that, he left.

Lillian watched him leave, she shut the door and locked it, she was angry, "petaQ, Dejpu'bogh Hov rur qablIj! HoS lI' lo'Ha'chu'! ghe' 'torDaq luSpet 'oH DaqlIj'e'! Hab SoSlI' Quch!"

Translation: Idiot, Your face looks like a collapsed star! You are a total waste of energy! You belong in a black hole in the underworld! Your mother has a flat forehead!
