May Monthly Update, And then Some...

Hello! Been awhile since I had officially sent out a monthly update, huh? That discord is going to do me in for updates. That also means this is a doozy.

So I know in the past I've touted a lot of changes for the simulation, and most of them have fallen through the cracks. Or, realistically, I've been putting it off because I've moved. Or because I got a new job. Or because we had a worldwide pandemic. Regardless of my reasons, I would like to first and foremost apologize for not following through on my end of the simulation bargain here. As Commanding Officer and Game Master, it is not fair to expect any of you to be posting when I myself am having a hard ass time even sitting down for any length of time. I will continually appreciate those who have stuck with it and stuck with me and my nonsense, and I could not ask for a better group. I will continually state that. We have almost consistently made a post count happen, we are active, and I don't want that to go unnoticed.

That being said, it has come to my attention that some slight alterations have to be made in order for us to come up to the standards of the Task Force and the Fleet. These alterations are mostly back-end for the moment and should not affect overall play, though if we find we all want to know the numbers and the nitty gritty, I'm more than happy to oblige to the best of my ability. To spare the sake of your inboxes, I'm going to leave out most of the details, but do expect multiple discord messages over the next week or so. To give a brief, it's essentially about everyone's favorite topic, post count and activity.

The former is going to be extremely back end. I am proud of the quality of the posts we all pump out, and our posts are beastly long. These are all positives! I will update you on the exacts when I solidify them (or, to say, when I solidify how I'm explaining it), but no one should feel like they're not posting *enough* simply because of our 'physical numbers.' I would rather you worry about Oxford commas and character development than getting out ten posts a month (also don't worry about Oxford commas, I hear they're just awful).

The latter is... not as fun and friendly. For the most part, we've all been doing the best we can. I feel like you can approach me if you're having an activity or muse issue, but if that's not the case, I'd like to make that clear now. Definitely approach me if something is going to make it difficult for you to focus on what is essentially a hobby. You don't need to go into massive details. If it's private, I get that. But I'd rather you come to me (as soon as you're able) and tell me that you're going to have a hard time posting because of life/work/internet issues (or any issues really) than just not... talk to me. After getting your character bio in and participating in the simm itself, it is really the only thing I want to ask of you all, is to just tell me if you're not able to post for awhile. Or if you've lost interest in the simm, or you find it's not for you. I have no hard feelings if people feel like their time is better spent on another simm. That's absolutely fine. Just let me know! We're all adults here.

That being said, and I'll go over the details in the next week ish, there will be what essentially amounts to an 'activity check' going on on Haumea. No one's in trouble, but I need a way to gauge interest and this is the best way I know how to do it.

I did say I'd spare you all the details, didn't I? Woops.

On a lighter note, I've actually got my set up working more than I have last week. I'm going to kick some items into high gear, including another skin, those lore drops I keep procrastinating on, and quite a few other items. I have no set time table for these items, as I feel like the moment I do, I never get 'em done, but they're coming. As soon as I can get them out.
