With the Captain's office closed off, Commander Koplo took the initiative to make his 'meeting' arrangements within the security offices. The former engineer detested the idea of an office, having utilized his own for storage of his finest blades and whatever else the Captain decided was necessary to pass on to him. Such as paperwork. Paperwork he did not read, and chose not to, electing to let his yeoman (a frazzled, young Betazoid man who probably drew the short straw) read him all the memos, brushing away any that seemed less than important.
When the young petty officer read over a memo from the Captain about new armaments and upgrades, Koplo had taken it upon himself to organize a 'meeting'. At the very least, insist that the meeting be arranged.
He burst into the security offices an hour later, not wasting a second glance to those doing their jobs. Marching right up to the door of the main office, he gave it a menacing glare, before knocking a fist against it's metallic side. "This is Commander Koplo! We have much to discuss, Lieutenant!"
The security officer had barely time to drink his morning coffee and bagel when the commander pretty much beat his door down quite literally. "Come on," Theodore called sitting up a little straighter in the pile of PaDDs he had hanging around his desk to check over.
The door swished open to reveal Koplo, who had taken a stance similar to that of the various war heroes he had heard about in childhood stories. "Lieutenant Winslow! It is fantastic to have you back to full duties! And we have much to discuss! You have received my memo, yes?"
Theodore blinked at the man in his doorway and rose to his feet. "Commander?" He questioned before he looked at his desk. "Which memo are you referring to?" He wondered thinking he had seen at least four from the only man it could be - Koplo.
The Klingon clad in red did not hesitate to explain himself, instead slamming a fist against the back of the opposite-facing chair in vigor. "Lieutenant, we need to discuss the upgrades coming to our beloved colony! We have to be able to defend our homes from potential attack! With the multitude of enemies out there, I am surprised we have not performed these upgrades sooner!"
The quiet man was a tad taken back by the boldness of the man but at least someone was talking to him. "I see." Theo nodded. He had been surprised but with all the events and suspicions he had just assumed he had nodded be involved due to all of that. "I am all ears to listen then."
"All ears? I don't need ears, Lieutenant, I need ACTION!" Koplo declared, so loud so that his words echoed through the room. "We have security staff who need to have their colony personnel trainings on top of going through with the updates that I know Captain Mahone has been less than adamant about. Take our Orbital Base, for example. We'll need a whole set of personnel for that, and our control towers will need all those upgrades. Are we working on that?" Koplo could have cared less that the base was going to end up on the other side of the departmental split. Theo was the face he always spoke at, therefore Theo was going to answer all the questions whether he knew the answers or not.
Theo took a few seconds before he tried to even attempt to speak up. "The tower upgrades are being done despite only getting the request yesterday on my return. The personnel for the Orbital base I cannot do much about until Starfleet give us more so both the colony and base will have less. Have i missed anything? Ah yes training for everyone. The schedule is now on your PaDD." The man send the information across to the Klingon. "Freshly finished an hour ago."
"An hour ago?!" Koplo thundered, eyes narrowing. "... Okay. That should do perfectly." There came the pause, but it was overrun by excitement out of the Klingon. "Have they set the base up yet, Lieutenant? Tell me, do you know?" For Koplo, anyone who was closer to the Captain than he was (which was, to say, almost everyone on the senior staff) likely knew more information than he did. "Has the Captain informed you of anything at all revolving around our new base?"
"I know that it has been 24 hours since I was told that it would be happening." Theo was still massively out of the loop and it was leaving him confused and distressed by it all. He needed to catch up but was finding people reluctant to help along with his own mind fuzz. "Bases are not as easy as ships to get into place."
Koplo, equally as out of the loop, frowned. He assumed when he received the memo of the new upgrades yesterday, the others knew well before he did. The Captain tended to lean toward a more proactive approach. "... I see. Well, Lieutenant, we should make haste, as there are multiple points of action we need to accomplish before the Captain returns and decides to utilize our new resources as a medical outpost, or worse... life sciences."
The Commander narrowed his eyes, focusing on Theo. "We need to act fast, then, to ensure that the security of the colony is up to the standards Starfleet has set forth for us, Lieutenant. Which means we both need to get to work on it, wouldn't you agree?"
"I do agree," Theodore said wishing he could just sigh at the changes that had occurred last few days. "Just need to find the best place to start." He mused grabbing the handful of PADDS to start processing the information he needed to. "I will start Sir."
"Excellent. I shall-" Koplo stopped as his commbadge chirruped. A huff escaped his throat, and he smacked the badge on his chest with an unnecessary amount of intensity. "What is it!?"
"Sir, your... your appointment with Representative Lotor of Galactic Dynamics is soon. Are you... available?" came the sheepish voice of his yeoman.
Koplo's nose twitched. "Yes I am! I shall be there shortly." He gave Theo a nod. "Keep me appraised, Lieutenant. We shall not disappoint the Captain upon his official return."
